Vassilikos resort is located approximately 15km northeast of the town of Zakynthos.
It is better known for its natural beauty and tranquillity as it offers a rare mixture to its visitors: mountain, sea and vast vegetation.
If I was asked to characterize Vassilikos I would say it is rather a general area of the peninsula than a separate resort, a paradise on our little island with many villages that are not densely populated.
The explorer of Vassilikos will find breathtaking views, wild beauty and the most beautiful beaches of Zante and the Ionian Sea.
Vassilikos even a quiet place it offers all kinds of tourist facilities like luxury hotels, restaurants, taverns, shops and more. Let’s have a better look.
Vassilikos is the hot spot of the island for its magnificent beaches. Wonderful beaches with shallow, crystal clean waters and fine sand ideal for all ages. Start by visiting Gerakas and Porto Roma, then Agios Nikolaos, Banana, Porto Zoro, Kaminia and the wonderful beach of Dafni. There is a choice for every taste from crowded beaches offering beach bars, taverns and all kinds of water sports to quiet beaches where you can enjoy your privacy even in August.
As far as the food in Vassilikos is concerned there are numerous taverns and restaurants not only along the main road but especially to quieter spots and near the beaches.
Enjoy fresh fish in one of the many traditional taverns up the beaches and feel the fresh air that cools your body after the sunbathing or have a refreshing cocktail to the many beach bars of the area.
Regarding your accommodation in Vassilikos you can find a wide range of hotels, apartments, studios and rooms for all budgets. The most demanding customers have possibilities to find luxury hotels and traditional stone houses which offer all kinds of services and amenities as long as astonishing views to the sea.
The nightlife in Vassilikos is really quiet as bars and clubs doesn’t even exist here. However we would recommend you to spend a romantic evening to a café watching the moon that is mirrored to the sea or alternatively enjoy a great dinner to a traditional tavern listening to live Greek music.
Finally don’t miss the chance to buy traditional products to the many shops that are scattered along the main road like pottery or the traditional Zakynthian sweets, mandolato and pasteli.
Vassilikos is connected to Zakynthos town by bus service with daily runs. However it would be a nice idea to rent a car in Zante or motorbike to explore Vassilikos’ beauty at your own pace. Absolutely a must for every visitor, don’t miss it.
